There's never been a better time to plan a dreamy beach trip.
| | | | | | TripSavvy Is Celebrating Beaches and Islands This July | I could not have a more inspiring view while writing this editors' letter: I'm looking across the bright blue waters of Zaton Bay in Croatia, a smattering of clay-roofed houses stacked up a hill, punctuated by bright tufts of bougainvillea and tall, skinny Cyprus trees. I'm full off a lunch of grilled vegetables and the freshest octopus salad, and I can't help but think to myself — this is it, the perfect beach trip. Except, of course, I say that on every beach vacation: While waiting on sizzling al pastor tacos from a street vendor in Isla Mujeres, Mexico, where the water is as calm and clear as a swimming pool; when crossing the beachfront finish line of the Bahamas half marathon and jumping directly into the water; even while tooling around upstate New York's Lake Chateaguay in a pontoon boat, breaking to swim at a sandbar in the middle of the water. And that, of course, is the beauty of the beach trip. Every culture finds its way to the water, whether it be for a quick escape, which you'll find in every single state (we promise), or even just for a strong margarita (it is vacation, after all). So this July, in the height of summer, we celebrate the beach trip in all its glory. Whether you're hunting for undiscovered shores, figuring out how to pack the perfect beach bag, or want to get inspired by the Spanish heroes cleaning up the beaches of Menorca — we've got you covered.
