15 Minutes to a Cleaner Living Room
Welcome to Day 2!

Mélanie Berliet, General Manager
The living room is one of the hardest places to keep clean because it's used for so many different purposes. But it's also one of the most important places to clean regularly since a messy living room is much harder to relax in than a neat one.

This quick cleanup is so easy, you can do it at the beginning or end of every day. It's also a great way to keep your weekend chore list shorter.

Follow these steps for the most efficient use of your time!

Tip
Collect Your Items
Start by placing a large empty box and a wastebasket in the center of the room.

Collect any dishes and glasses around the room and take them to the kitchen. Put them away or into the dishwasher, out of sight.

Round up all trash and garbage (newspapers, wrappers, old magazines, etc.) and throw them into the wastebasket.

Gather any items that don't belong in the living room (clothing, toys, mail, tech) and put them into the box.

Take both the wastebasket and the box to the garage, basement, closet or another out-of-the-way spot.

Wipe Down Surfaces
Grab the damp and dry washcloths. Wipe off picture frames and mirrors, first with the damp, then the dry rag.

Wipe all objects and surfaces with the damp rag, and remove moisture with the dry cloth.

Neatly stack magazines or books on the coffee table. Rearrange decorative objects to an attractive position.

Final Steps
Spritz a light air freshener into the room, or turn on an essential oil diffuser.

If you have any time left, vacuum the major traffic areas or rugs.

4 Products to Pack for Your Next Solo Trip, According to a TripSavvy Editor
A lot of people are intimidated by the thought of traveling on their own, whether it's safety concerns or the fear of getting lonely. However, solo travel can be incredibly rewarding and provide experiences you wouldn't have had otherwise. While it does usually require a bit more planning and preparation, we've got you covered. It only takes a few key items to get yourself ready for your solo trip.

As a photographer, I often end up behind the camera, and I don't feel fully comfortable handing my beloved (and expensive) DSLR off to a stranger. Over time, I've invested in a few compact pieces that have helped me get in front of the camera when I'm on my own. One of them being the Joby Gorillapod Tripod. This compact, foldable tripod fits in my backpack and can wrap around almost anything to get the right angle. It even has a smartphone attachment for those taking pictures with their iPhone.

Most cameras have a self timer nowadays—but if you want a bit more control and don't want to run back and forth between the front and back of your camera, consider getting a remote control shutter. I suggest the CamKix Camera shutter for anyone using a smartphone or tablet. If you want one for a higher-end camera, you can easily find one that works for your specific brand.

One thing I will not leave my house (or hotel room) without is some extra battery power. I personally love the Anker PowerCore Essential, which can easily charge my phone up to five times! And finally, everyone's main concern while traveling alone is safety. A few years ago, my mom gave me a Safesound Personal Alarm Keychain and I love how practical it is. You simply pull the chain to enable a super loud siren and clip it back in to turn it off. I've luckily never had to use it, but I always feel better knowing I have it.
