We're Celebrating Pride With a Collection of Features Dedicated to LGBTQ+ Travelers
When reading through our June features, which celebrate Pride, I was struck by a quote from Amazing Race star and Celebrity Page host Jaymes Vaughan about why he started OUTbound, a custom tour company for LGBTQ+ travelers.

"Traditional gay cruising has a reputation for being only circuit parties. There's nothing wrong with that, but we're personally not big into the party scene… Our main focus is building a community of LGBTQ+ travelers who want to get to know each other, who want to spend time together."

For all that travel should be about diversity and inclusion—what else do we travel for, if not to meet new people and discover unfamiliar cultures?—the industry too often buckets LGBTQ+ travel into categories that don't represent the whole community.

That's why we dedicated this month's features to less-discussed elements of LGBTQ+ travel. Follow along as Fatoutmata Ceesay travels to The Gambia as a bisexual woman—and visits her staunchly religious family. Consider the challenges of traveling abroad as a gender non-conforming person. Or simply listen to LGBTQ+ travelers discuss the personal risks and ethical considerations of visiting countries that still limit their rights.

As always, we're here to help you plan trips, too. Discover monuments and memorials to the LGBTQ+ movement at eight national parks; show your pride all year long at some lesser-known LGBTQ+ festivals and events; or plan a day trip to the best LGBTQ+ attraction in your own backyard—we found one in every single state.

Wherever this year's celebrations take you, Happy Pride!
