8 Solo Travel Experts Share Their Best Tips
Book a tour. Don't stay out too late. Have a charged cell phone. Pre-plan your transportation. We've all heard these tried-and-true solo travel tips—and while all these suggestions are great (and absolutely important), we wanted to go one step deeper for our April features package, which focuses on the joys and challenges of traveling stag.

I surveyed more than 100 expert solo travelers—we're talking folks who have danced across lavender fields in Provence and steamed in hammams in Morocco—to find out what they recommend for hitting the road on your own.

While you can see their underrated best tips here, these pros also shared some genuinely clever recs for the gear they bring along the way. A few of their top items that are now on my radar include a hammock (you never know when you might need an impromptu nap on the beach), a doorstop (handy for feeling safe and secure in your hotel room), earpod language translators (cool and self-explanatory!), and a 20-liter backpack (virtually the unanimous choice for ease of lugging your stuff from place to place).

So what are you waiting for? Take a read through their tips, load up your pack, and hit the road a smarter and savvier solo traveler than ever before.

A much faster and less invasive COVID test is here, and FDA authorized.

Who: Meet the InspectIR COVID-19 Breathalyzer.

What: This is the first-ever breathalyzer test for COVID; it gives results in under three minutes.

Where: Trained professionals can administer the test at hospitals, clinics, and testing sites. Home breathalyzers are not currently available.
Know More
InsepctIR has not yet stated the ideal time to use its test after exposure or symptom onset.
Feel Better
This could be a welcome alternative for people who hate getting a nasal swab. But while the breathalyzer test appears highly accurate against Omicron, the FDA says any positive test result should be confirmed with a molecular test, like a PCR test.

WHO Panel Endorses Single HPV Vaccine Dose
The World Health Organization now recommends a single dose of the HPV vaccine for girls between the ages of 9 and 20. The HPV vaccine protects against some forms of cervical cancer and other HPV-related cancers and is usually given in several doses. Multiple-dose vaccines aren't as accessible around the world; it's also important that girls get vaccinated when they are younger and will have a stronger immune response. This single-dose vaccine can help increase vaccine rates and lower the risk of cancer. The two-dose series, however, is still recommended for women between the ages of 21 and 26.
