Destination of the Day ![]()
While many people associate Jerusalem most closely with Israel, Tel Aviv is the country's answer to Miami and the beating heart of its culinary, cultural, and nightlife scene. It's also a beach town–clean beaches run the length of the city–meaning there's a unique mix of sophistication and relaxation here.
Some of the best things to do in Israel can be found in Tel Aviv. You'll see vibrant graffiti art, modern architecture, and the largest collection of Bauhaus buildings in the world. Walk along the beach promenade or take a tour of the area via bicycle. And while Jerusalem's Old City is on most people's Israel bucket lists, Tel Aviv's walled Old City, called Jaffa, should also be on your radar. Jaffa is home to what is considered the world's oldest port at about 4,000 years old, and in recent years, it has become home to seaside restaurants, lively bars, and artists studios.
Israel has gained acclaim in the last five to 10 years for its incredible food scene, getting on the radar of many foodies. Tel Aviv in particular is a standout city with a dynamic and varied dining scene, with top-quality and creative restaurants. Additionally, Tel Aviv has become a bastion for vegans and is known as one of the vegan capitals of the world, with about 40 vegan restaurants and 44 vegetarian restaurants. The city is also known for its nightlife, so you'll find no shortage of dance floors to hit.
The hotel scene has vastly improved in Israel over the past 10 years, with plenty of luxury and more affordable options in locations across the country. In Tel Aviv, there are diverse options on the beach, in the White City, in Jaffa, and in Neve Tzedek. While there are some major international hotel chains in Tel Aviv like Hilton, InterContinental, and Marriott, you'll also have your pick of excellent boutique hotels, including the Norman, Hotel Montefiore, and The Vera Hotel.

Get Inspired ![]() If experiencing the world's highest tides is on your bucket list, you might want to add New Brunswick's Fundy National Park to your upcoming travel plans. Twice a day, up to 3,937 feet of water rush in and out, making this spot a unique chance to explore the seafloor at low tide. There are also more than 62 miles of hiking and biking trails that run through the Acadian forest, leading to waterfalls (of which there are more than 20), lakes, and river valleys. This top Canadian destination is also a Dark Sky Preserve with some of the best starry night skies in the region. ![]() You are receiving this newsletter because you subscribed to the TripSavvy newsletter.
