This is Germany's rendition of the popular Eastern European potato pancake.

German Potato Pancakes These potato pancakes are traditionally eaten with applesauce at local outdoor weekly markets, Christmas events, or during other German holidays. We also like them as an appetizer with sour cream or a side dish with roasted chicken or pork dishes. They even taste amazing at brunch, topped with a poached egg.
