SAM'S OCCASION

Sam wears pants to christenings and confirmations as a sign of respect to Jesus.

Sam doesn't think wearing shorts in church is a sin, but with his record, he's not willing to take that chance.
Thank you Jesus, and I cover my knees for thee.
KARL'S  OCCASION

Karl wears pants to the movies because theaters can get pretty cold.

He can also fit an entire Italian party sub down his pant leg, and you can't do that with shorts.
Gonna need more gabagool...
JACK'S OCCASION

Jack wears pants when he's visiting the New York City library.

He also wears a lanyard in hopes that someone mistakes him for an employee and asks for a recommendation.
We'll start with dystopian science fiction then work our way to international crime mysteries.
