REBEL8 Vintage

In 2004, when I was laying out our first print wholesale catalog I was nervous as hell. I already paid for the Las Vegas tradeshow booth which was literally all my money and knew I had to make sales or this REBEL8 thing was gonna be over.   On the last page of the catalog I added this: I was trying to protect myself if the wholesale collection didn't sell by offering something else. So I had Mike Giant in the booth drawing on a bunch of random shit that my girlfriend sourced. Super hard to see in the below photo but that jacket hanging is vintage and Giant took a Sharpie to the sleeve and chest. On the floor, a vintage handbag with a gold paint pen skull, two pairs of Vans and two pairs of cowboy boots all with hand drawn art. Thankfully the wholesale collection did perform and the REBEL8 Customs concept was put to bed.   The interesting thing is that although we started and stopped doing one-offs in '05, REBEL8 has always been inspired by vintage.
