This edition is full of tips and resources. So without further ado, let's dive in: | | Email Campaign Idea - The Plain Text From Founder Email: | | Purpose/Context of Email:Plain text emails from the founder are good for a number of reasons. It has a positive effect on your deliverability, and it helps your audience connect with the brand. Using plain text makes the subscriber feel like this actually might be an email directly from the founder TO THEM, even though thousands of people got the same email. It gives you a bit of a halo effect. Example 1 is from Parachute, a brand for making your house feel like a home. Parachute used their founder to alert the audience that a sale is coming up, which is always a good idea. Her language is naturally very soothing and comforting, which is super on-brand, and I'm sure everyone loved this one. While this email is not truly "plain text" in its pure definition, the idea is still the same.The only thing I would've done differently here is her use of the word "friends". She gives away the fact that she's talking to an entire list instead of just one person. When you say "hi friend" or "hi firstname", it becomes even more targeted and personal. Example 2 is from The Essence Vault, a brand we saw last week. I've worked closely with the founder, Connor, and I was able to get some insights about this campaign. This very email was the start of a brand new direction for The Essence Vault. They made so much money because of this email.The audience for this brand is middle-aged women. Maybe they haven't been charmed in a while. This email is as charming as it gets. The copywriter for this brand tested dozens of different brand voices, and eventually landed on the "sweet, sensitive founder" voice. They used this style of copy for over a dozen campaigns to date to get insane engagement, and a ton of sales. This particular email is so personal and intimate that I'm sure a lot of people thought it was for them, and them only. Keep this in the back of your mind when crafting emails. Segment:
