Happy Thursday!

Here's what I'm seeing regarding email marketing and copywriting this week.

This edition is full of tips and resources.

So without further ado, let's dive in:

Email Campaign Idea - The VIP Only Email:

Email Examples:

The VIP Only Email Example 1

The VIP Only Email Example 2

Purpose/Context of Email:

VIPs are an important aspect of any brand. Who is likely to buy the most, who is the most loyal, who responds and engages with you most? These people NEED to be rewarded, because they are the backbone of your brand. Any time there's a drop or a sale, make sure they're prioritized. Here's how you do it:

Example 1  is from Alo, a fitness brand. This is a good concept and a good-looking email, but this is what I was going to say about in-house vs agency emails. You can just tell. This email has about 39984 things going on all at once, and it's very distracting for the audience. People don't need to be told everything they need to know within the email, that's what a PDP is for. Brands who handle email internally usually try to mention 100 things at once in one campaign when it really should be spaced out among multiple campaigns. Otherwise, I like this email. Now, look at this next email. It'll explain everything.

Example 2  is from AsWeMove, who has been featured here before I believe. Now, this email may be one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. The colors are amazing, the copy is brief and simple, and the offer is great. When I opened this email, I knew immediately it was from an agency that specializes in email marketing. It's so clear what the audience has to do. There is absolutely no confusion. Did I mention it's absolutely beautiful? I'll say it again: treat your VIPs like family. This is so important.

Partner of the Week:

This email was sent to you from my Omnisend email account.

I migrated from Klaviyo to Omnisend, and you should too.

Here's why:

As a long-time customer, I have always supported Klaviyo.

But as they grew, I felt more and more disconnected.

They kept adding features, but the core functionalities didn't improve—and I knew it was time to make a change.

Enter Omnisend.

I first heard about Omnisend in 2021 and watched them from a distance.

Over the past 4 years, their platform has evolved rapidly, consistently improving its core features.

Here's what I'm loving so far:

  • Intuitive email builder – It's easy to use but still powerful.
  • Automation flows – The UI/UX is clean and straightforward, giving me the flexibility I need.
  • Forms – They're light years ahead, eliminating the need for third-party tools.
  • Data & Segmentation – It feels accurate, and setting up segments is quick and painless (no confusing jargon).

Plus, their global SMS product is great and a I've found a few unique features like mailstreams, automatic list cleaning, and campaign boosting features growing on me.

With the help of my partner Jimmy Kim, we made the switch last month, and the Omnisend team made it seamless:

  • Automated contact migration – No headaches.
  • Smooth automation transfer – I moved everything I needed (and left some behind).
  • Dedicated CSM – They helped me create a strategic warm-up plan to transition smoothly without losing revenue.

And the results?

A fresh, user-friendly platform.

  • Big cost savings and lightning-fast support.
  • Improved deliverability – Opens and clicks are up across the board.

Sometimes change is exactly what you need—and this switch has been one of my favorite decisions of 2025 so far.

If you're considering a change, I highly recommend Omnisend as your next platform.

Use these 7 Storytelling Hacks to stay ahead of 99% of copywriters:

Copywriting Tip of the Week:

A boring product isn't the problem.

A boring angle is.

How to Apply This for Your Brand:

  1. Find the Hook: Every product has something unique. Frame it in a way that connects with what your audience cares about most.

    • Example: Instead of: "We sell plain white t-shirts."
    • Use: "The softest, most durable white tee you'll ever own—guaranteed."

  2. Tell the Right Story: Make your product relevant by showing how it fits into your customer's life.

    • Example: A standing desk isn't just furniture—it's "the productivity hack that helps you stay energized all day."

  3. Make Them Pay Attention: Lead with an unexpected angle, strong emotion, or bold statement.

    • Example: Instead of: "Our water bottle keeps drinks cold for 24 hours."
    • Use: "Tired of sipping warm water? Stay ice-cold, even on the hottest days."

  4. Test Different Angles: If your messaging isn't working, reframe it. The way you position your product makes all the difference.

Remember: There are no dull products—only dull copy. The right angle turns anything into something worth buying.

🗑 Why Are Your Emails Going to Spam?

Struggling with poor click rates and bounces?

Emails not landing in the inbox? 😖

You're not alone. Marketing teams and businesses worldwide face the same frustrating issue—low open rates and engagement due to emails being filtered into spam.

The truth is, email providers have strict filters. If your domain reputation isn't strong, if they perceive you as sketchy, or if engagement is low, your emails won't make it to your leads' inboxes.

Find out why your emails are going to spam.
