Be sure to pack your activewear! With access to outdoor spaces that offer hiking, biking, kayaking, and other recreational activities, Vancouver truly is a city for nature lovers.
Fall in Vancouver is cool, but not cold. Pack jeans, long-sleeved T-shirts, cozy sweaters, and a light jacket. If you visit in November, when rainfall peaks, bring an umbrella and a waterproof jacket, preferably one with a hood.
If you're planning to hit the slopes up in Whistler, ski gear is a must. Don't forget thermals, goggles, and a ski jacket that leaves room for layers.
The 280,000-acre Vermillion Cliffs National Monument, located 41 miles west of Page, Arizona, is best-known for Coyote Buttes North, otherwise known as "The Wave." The otherworldly landscape—which boasts geologic sandstone formations in shades of red, rust, and gold—can be accessed via a challenging 6.4-mile, round-trip hike. Once you reach The Wave, you can continue to a nearby second wave formation, natural arches, petroglyphs, and dinosaur tracks.
