I just got back from a long weekend in Bass Lake, CA and just now going through the stack of shit piled on my desk; countless papers, unreadable post-it notes, production samples, etc. And that's nothing compared to my email inbox steady on swole. But check it, as I was sitting shotgun going south down the 5 to LA, traffic was hella light and it was easy to maintain a safe 75 no problem. Northbound however was fucked. It was bumper-to-bumper with sections in a complete standstill. It really tripped me out and got me thinking about my path in life, namely all my time working on REBEL8. Even though you may be going in the right direction, it might not feel like you are. Because some times shit is just slow as fuck and it's nearly impossible to recognize that you are actually heading there. But you are. On some stoner shit, I was staring at this tree that was growing through the deck on the house we were staying at. The deck was literally built around this big ass tree. I thought about this tree's life. When it first popped from the ground, there wasn't this deck, there probably wasn't even this house. But over the decades, patiently, it kept on pushing up to the sky. Finally growing so massive in size that the blueprint of house and deck had to acknowledge it's presence. If you feel stuck or aimless at times, don't even trip. Stop judging yourself. Take a deep breath knowing you aren't alone. And smile motherfucker. Shit can always get worse. Anyways here are two photos from the weekend: |
