It's also that time of year where we think about the habits, behaviors, routines we want to focus on for 2023. This year, we think it would be great to consider your pawed pal in this process. We have come up with three suggestions for Health Goals in 2023 for you and your pawed pal to incorporate into your routines. | | | Studies have shown that we awaken more quickly and will sleep better at night when we wake up and expose our eyes and body to natural blue light from the sun. This is due to the more natural cycling of serotonin to melatonin. In addition, there are benefits additional which include a strong and more regulated immune system and improved mood. The same is true for our pawed pals, which means getting out and walking first thing in the morning, every morning, can bestow benefits for you both.
Also adding a walk after dinner can help with digestion and winding down for the evening to promote better sleep too. Our suggestion is that if you already have your morning routine down, why not add another walk, post dinner, for you and your pup even if it's a short one!
| | | We know how exciting it is for us to get together with friends for a meal or social date, and the same can be said for our dogs. Why not make a plan with a friend or family member who has another dog that your pup loves and get them together for a play date once a week? This play date will allow some extra social time for you, as well as giving your dog special time with their furry friend for exercise and mental stimulation. If your pup is more of a solo dog, why not make a special date at the park or even venture to a different area of town or a new park for new sights, sounds and smells?
| | | Nothing shows love like cooking a meal for your friends and family, so why not extend this to your pup? Some great ideas include fresh vegetables (use a Cuisinart® or food processor to chop them finely), steamed or baked sweet potatoes, and a side of protein whether meat or plant-based. Ideal calories per gram for your pup are between 20 and 40 calories per pound depending on activity level.
If you're adding a fresh meal only once a week, there is no need to stress about tracking calories. If you are making meals all the time, you can use a calorie tracking app like MyFitnessPal for your pup. | | | Give Your Pup the Gift of a Longer Pet Life | | | Restore M3® is a 3-in-1 prebiotic, probiotic and digestive enzyme blend designed to enhance and diversify your pet's microbiological populations by supporting improved digestion, immunity, and nutrient absorption. | | | Feel like changing the way you receive emails? | | | | | | |
