| Hey Friend, Lots of interesting emails for you this week that I can't wait to get into. Thank goodness I have this newsletter because it reminded me that I need to buy some Easter stuff for the family. Lifesaver. Before we dive in, I wanted to tell you about Gorgias, my #1 recommended CX platform. It's what brands like OLIPOP, BrüMate, CROSSNET, & a ton of others use to power their CX operation. One of favorite brands, The Oodie, credits Gorgias with enabling their team to reply to 50,000+ customer emails every month. Before Gorgias, this was impossible. I'm a big Gorgias fan & personally believe it's an absolute must-have for any Shopify business. sponsored
Let's jump in to today's emails: Campaign Idea 1 - The Easter Email: - Email Examples:
- The Easter Email Example 1
- The Easter Email Example 2
- Purpose/Context of Email:
When you become a parent, Easter becomes one of your favorite holidays. It's one of the only days of the year that you can eat tons of chocolate and not feel guilty. That's why I'm excited to send these emails, and you should be too.
Example 1 is from Burke Decor.
This email is great because it's stuff that you kind of need in order to flex on your dinner guests. I think the young person (flashy cars and watches) flexing is cool, but old lady flexing is even cooler. If you can create products or brands that help old ladies flex, you'll be very well off. And Burke Decor is doing just that for Easter.
Example 2 is from Lalo.
This is a cute and clever email that includes a sale for parents. Easter isn't JUST about eating unlimited chocolate, it's about activities that'll keep the kids busy while you take a power nap. Coloring books, playdough, whatever works. I like the copy and design here as well. I'd swipe some of this if I were you. -

- The Gift Card Email Example 1
- The Gift Card Email Example 2
- Purpose/Context of Email:
If you think that gift cards aren't effective in the DTC world, you're not selling them right. Some of my clients absolutely crush it with gift card campaigns for a couple reasons. Gift cards can capture the impulse of wanting to buy something and delay it so that you don't have to fulfill right away. Also, obviously, it's great when you want to treat your friend but you don't want to get them the wrong thing. Check these out. Example 1 is from Jinx, the DTC dog food brand. This email is amazing because it's one scroll. Everything here fits above the fold, which is great design. Also, the directions are so simple that even a puppy could follow them. They tell you exactly where to find the gift card and what to do with it. Always be specific with your audience when you want them to take some sort of action.
Example 2 is from Mejuri. This one is a little different from what Jinx did, but very effective. Giving away gift cards is a great way to collect data or go hard on getting people to buy. I'm not exactly sure what Mejuri was asking for in exchange with this campaign, but it's a very compelling offer. If you ever want to drive email sign ups or SMS sign ups, giveaways like this are the way to go.

The past few years have been anything but easy with all the chaos we marketers have had to deal with. From privacy updates to rising CAC to layoffs and a looming recession. It's been tough, to say the least. And while there's no silver bullet — there is one asset that will make weathering the storm (and thriving during it) a lot more likely: Your owned audience: Email + SMS. A company I'm advising called Retention.com has built a platform that'll help you do 2 primary things around identity resolution: 1. Their platform will help you send more abandonment emails (up to 5x-10x more), resulting in a boatload more revenue being generated for your or your client's brand. 2. Their platform will help you to capture more emails of people visiting your site. You're spending a lot of money to get people to your site, you might as well maximize your email capture. And no, your current popup just isn't cutting it. I highly encourage you to chat with them about how they're helping my clients and others like Tonal, Blendjet, Dr. Squatch, etc. make a ton of money (seeing an average 2x-4x ROI) from their Email and SMS channels. | | | | | Campaign Idea 3 - The Stress Awareness Month Email: - Email Examples:
- The Stress Awareness Month Email Example 1
- The Stress Awareness Month Email Example 2
- Purpose/Context of Email:
Are you stressed out? I'm not. Or maybe I am, but I'm just not aware of it? Hmm. Stress Awareness Month (April) is an opportunity to do some "treat yourself" campaigns and get people to give themselves a bit of a break. Example 1 is from Prose. Now that I think about it, this might be pretty close to the perfect email. They provide the justification, the problem, the solution, and then explain the solution. Great copy, great design, and all of a sudden I'm stress-free. If every email in the world was like this one, I'd never stress about anything ever again. Example 2 is from Moon Juice. This email is less visually interesting, but still educational. One thing I'd do to improve this copy is start with smaller words to hook them in on their problem before you provide the complex solution. Instead of "do you know where your lymphatic hemoglobin geopolitical carbon tax photosynthesis", I'd start with "do you ever feel tired and have no idea why?" Way simpler. Less jargon, more empathy. - Segment(s):
