| Hey Friend, Hopefully this email doesn't get buried in all of the 4/20 emails you're about to get today. Best of luck, sincerely. It seems like every brand and their...parent company...decided to send a 4/20 email. We've got 2 email campaign ideas that are even better than that this week. Real quick, when I heard BruMate made $9M through their Customer Service channel over the last 2 years, my thinking changed. Like most, I thought of CS as a cost center rather than a revenue driver. What if we could turn CS into a revenue channel & treat it like another marketing channel? I'm talking about a team supported by automation that can help customers quickly find answers to their questions and guide them to specific areas of the site. For Ecom Brands, this is the best replacement we have for in-store sales reps. And this extra support goes a long way. This allowed BruMate to scale 15 agents & $9m in CS sales. That's $300k/agent per year. They switched to Gorgias from Zendesk to support all their marketing channels from 1 platform to respond to customers more efficiently. Turn Customer Service into a rev machine. sponsored Let's jump in. Campaign Idea 1 - The Tax SZN Email: - Email Examples:
- The Tax SZN Email Example 1
- The Tax SZN Email Example 2 - Purpose/Context of Email:
Everyone's favorite season...tax season. Some of us owed money, and some of us got money back. Most of the people who will be receiving your emails most likely got some money back, or they're just relieved that tax season is over. Celebrate with a sale.
Example 1 is from Spritz, one of my fav CPG brands these days.
The subject line for this one was TAX SZN IS OVER, which was a breath of fresh air just to read. Thank goodness. The one thing I love about this email is that they don't tell you what the discount is before you click on it. This adds the element of curiosity and it's intense. I NEED to know what the discount is. The fact that they leave you hanging is what led to an insane click rate. Good work here.
Example 2 is from Perricone MD.
This email is super simple but effective. A 40% off discount is huge, which I wish I got on my taxes this year. I also like that they used language like "refund" which makes you happy in the context of the IRS. You can run emails with this theme for at least the next 2 weeks. People are still riding high that tax season is over and they can relax for the next 300 days. -

- The Rewards Points Email Example 1
- The Rewards Points Email Example 2
- Purpose/Context of Email:
Now that e-commerce businesses are becoming more expensive to acquire customers, people are finding cool ways to drive LTV forward as much as possible. Rewards points are a great way to incentivize multiple purchases and Example 1 is from Beam, another one of my favorites. Super simple and less branded/designed than their usual emails, but solid language as always. The one thing you need to remember with a lot of these emails is that there is some work required for most people to get onboarded to a referral program. They need an incentive to actually get on in the first place, and that's what the initial points are for — just for signing up. Tell them exactly what they need to do so they feel like it won't be that much work, and then get them hooked on earning points. Example 2 is from Aura Bora. Firstly, I love the design of this email. It looks amazing and it looks seamless. I love that they have tiers as well, because people are inherently competitive. It's the same reason every person over the age of 30 is addicted to candy crush. It's the never-ending chase of having MORE. The same can be true for your brand if you say the right things to your customers. - Segment(s):
