Happy Thursday! Here's what I'm seeing regarding email marketing and copywriting this week. This edition is full of tips and resources. So without further ado, let's dive in: | | Campaign Idea - The Make It Your Own Email: - Email Examples:
- The Make It Your Own Email Example 1
- The Make It Your Own Email Example 2 - Purpose/Context of Email:
Customization is one of my favorite things about DTC in general. Some brands do a really good job of either (1), allowing customers to tweak their experience to make it special to them, or (2), position it as something that is unique to them, even though the products are generic.
Example 1 is from Colorpop. This one is awesome. I love build-your-own campaigns, and I also love this design. It's so clean and easy to read. Some designs just scratch that itch in your brain and it feels good to look at. So many people have objections about certain DTC products like, "the products are good, but I wish it had X". Just allow your audience to choose what X is so everyone can be happy.
Example 2 is from Proven Skincare. A friend of mine sent me this email, so I blocked out their name, but this is what it looked like. They took a short quiz, answered some generic questions, and then got this email. This one tells you exactly what you said, and why they're giving you the results you got. This one is so powerful because it's like having a personal skincare expert in your corner. If you can give off these types of vibes in your emails, you'll win every time.
- Segment(s):
- Your engaged segment - Subject Line Idea:
- We made this for you.
- Built just for (name)
- (name), this is special - Preview Text Idea:
- Open to see what it is.
- That's your name, right?
- Because YOU'RE special | | Vendor of the Week: Most people don't realize this but coupon codes are KILLING your business. Every time someone uses a coupon code, your margins literally SHRINK. Based on data from my clients, those who've switched to a CashBack model instead in their popups and welcome series, are seeing 30% more revenue and 25% more LTV vs. when they were using a standard 10%-20% off coupon code. The reason is that more than 50% of customers never redeem their cashback which means you're adding tons of dollars to your bottom line since it's gone unclaimed. The beauty of this model is that shoppers pay full price and then redeem post-purchase for either cash or store credit. And those that redeem store credit will spend $$$ with you in the future. Between unclaimed $$$ and those that opt for store credit, you're now WAY more profitable. This is crushing for my clients, so I joined Fondue, the app that powers this, as an advisor. Learn more about them here. | | New Podcast Episode: My friend Mason and I launched a new podcast called The Dimond Download.
