I can say this, because I am a dad. We are exceptionally hard to buy for. Your job as a brand owner/marketer is to know your audience's dads better than THEY do. Offer up some ideas to for what they can gift their dad for Father's Day. It's coming soon.
Example 1 is from Original Grain.
This brand nails every email, so it was an easy choice to show them off for Father's Day. They offer a discount up top with awesome imagery, and then they have fun & entertaining copy below the fold to recommend certain products based on interest. This is the way to go for almost all gifting emails. It's an easy template that you can use for any holiday. If you can get as creative with your wordplay as Original Grain, even better. Plus 10 points.
Example 2 is from Ekster.
Another super common dad gift — the wallet — but you know that Ekster isn't just any old wallet. They focus on the positioning of "your last wallet ever". This resonates with all of the old-school dads who like to buy once & buy nice. Ekster is established enough as a brand that they can just send you a discount code and a one-liner, and you'll probably buy. This won't work for everyone, but I hope that you get there one day.
