I rarely talk about myself in this newsletter, but I'm stoked to share I was just ranked as the #1 ecommerce marketer to follow by Shopify. I'm over the moon about this. You can see the list here. | | Happy Thursday! Here's what I'm seeing regarding email marketing and copywriting this week. This edition is full of tips and resources. So without further ado, let's dive in: | | Campaign Idea - The Flash Sale Email: - Email Examples:
- The Flash Sale Email Example 1
- The Flash Sale Email Example 2
- Purpose/Context of Email:
Flash sales are one of my favorite ways to make some emergency money for a brand with email. It's value + urgency, and it works every time, as long as you don't do it every week (which some brands do). Make it super quick and limited, and do it like these brands did it so you can make it rain!
Example 1 is from Ruggable. I believe that they did something really cool, which was that they added a "flash sale" element into an abandonment trigger. The person who shared this email with me said that they were looking at the product that they plugged in the email, which is very cool. You can do that dynamically for every customer and then blast it out to everyone who's viewed something in the last 30 days.
Example 2 is from Bulletproof. They did something smart here. They took the urgency element of a flash sale, but they extended out the amount that they'd get paid because it's subscription based. If your business has a one-off/subscription hybrid, try running flash offers to the subscription so that you can get someone excited with some urgency, but they pay you forever. Good job here.
