I received A TON of questions today about the upcoming Google and Yahoo email updates, so I wanted to address them. We're just 10 days away from these big email changes from Google and Yahoo. Your email channel could literally be in danger if you don't follow these upcoming rules. There are 3 primary things you need to know, but first, let's start with who this applies to: Those who send more than 5,000 messages to Gmail addresses in one day. The same goes for Yahoo. If this is you, keep reading to understand the 3 things you need to do: 1. Email Authentication You need to set up the proper DNS records for your domain, which includes your: Here's an article from GoDaddy that might help you understand more about these DNS records. 2. Enable Easy Unsubscription: Google and Yahoo want to make it as easy as possible for subscribers to stop receiving emails they're not interested in getting. So easy that it should only take 1-click to unsubscribe. You may have noticed the recent branding update (see the image below from Twitter) next to the sender's name that makes it really easy to unsubscribe. That's part of this upcoming change. Your email platform will have more information on whether or not you need to do anything here or if they're rolling it out platform-wide for all their customers. | | 3. Keep Your Spam Rates Low: Google said: "Nobody likes spam, and Gmail already includes many tools that keep unwanted messages out of your inbox. To add yet another protection, moving forward, we'll enforce a clear spam rate threshold that senders must stay under to ensure Gmail recipients aren't bombarded with unwanted messages. This is an industry first, and as a result, you should see even less spam in your inbox." What is that new threshold? Keep spam rates reported in Postmaster Tools below 0.10% and avoid ever reaching a spam rate of 0.30% or higher. I hope this helps! Best, Chase | | No longer want to receive these emails?
