Adrift by Steven Callahan: A sailor recounts his harrowing 76-day survival in an inflatable raft in the Atlantic Ocean after his boat sinks.

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie: A timeless guide offering practical advice on how to build positive relationships and influence others in both personal and professional settings.

Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl: A Holocaust survivor and psychiatrist explores how finding purpose can help people endure unimaginable suffering.

Shogun by James Clavell: A 17th-century English navigator is shipwrecked and becomes embroiled in the political and cultural upheavals of feudal Japan.

The New One-Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson: A modernized version of the classic management guide that presents techniques for improving productivity, job satisfaction, and personal success in the workplace.

Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing: The true story of Ernest Shackleton's 1914 Antarctic expedition and his crew's miraculous survival after their ship is trapped and crushed by ice.

Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand: In a dystopian United States, leading innovators and thinkers refuse to be exploited by society, leading to a collapse of government and the rise of a new socio-economic order.

A Message to Garcia by Elbert Hubbard: An essay showing the importance of taking initiative at work, told through the story of a soldier who successfully delivers a critical message during the Spanish-American War.

You Ask, Joe Answers
Q: Hey Joe, I saw that you cold plunge before your workout. Why don't you do it after your workout instead?
- Scott K..

A: Hey Scott,You may see your buddies take the plunge following a tough workout, which has been shown to help reduce inflammation and soreness .

But if your goal is increasing muscle growth and building endurance, cold water immersion after your workout can blunt the effects. That's why experts like Andrew Huberman and other researchers suggest a cold plunge prior to your workout instead. Or, wait 6-8 hours after your workout, to avoid disrupting the hypertrophy process.

As for me, I want the first thing I do in the morning to be hard. Nothing like a cold plunge to power your day.
