November is here, and we're officially on the Road to Ocala!

We are now six weeks away from the 2024 DEKA World Championship weekend. Whether you're competing once or twice, or even seven or eight times over the course of the weekend, it's time to really dial in your training and your focus. The 2024 DEKA World Championship is our biggest weekend of the year, and we can't wait to celebrate fitness with you in Florida in December.

Whether you have your eye on the World Championship prize, or are looking to achieve your first or next champion moment inside the DEKA arena, this month is filled with a wealth of opportunities for you. Between the 80+ events taking place at DEKA Affiliates and Roadshows throughout the month, and the upcoming DEKA STRONG DOUBLE+ Challenge kicking off on Thanksgiving, you'll have no excuse not to show up and Make Your Mark in November.
We have a new DEKA Quarterly Challenge coming your way later this month, and today we get to give you the full scoop.

Introducting the DEKA STRONG DOUBLE+ Challenge!

This is a twist on the extremely popular DEKA STRONG 4x4 Challenge we ran last year. The DEKA STRONG DOUBLE+ is a three-person team challenge where teams will take on the full DEKA STRONG course - with all reps for all zones DOUBLED.

But there's a twist...

While teammates are taking turns working through the reps in the zones, the team also has to complete an additional 100 RAM burpees before Zone 9 is completed.

The DEKA STRONG DOUBLE+ Challenge kicks off on Thanksgiving Day and runs through December 31st. DEKA Quarterly Challenges can only be completed at DEKA Affiliate gyms, so be sure to contact your local DEKA Affiliate to find out when you can earn your Challenge Mark. As with all DEKA Quarterly Challenges, we encourage you to put on your coaching hat and someone new to DEKA to your team and complete the challenge with them.

As a bonus, this will be fantastic training for the DEKA World Championship for those who are competing. Or simply a great way to improve your DEKA zone skills.

Get to know the challenge below and get ready to Earn Your Challenge Mark starting Thanksgiving Day.
DEKA World Championship Weekend is rapidly approaching. Some may be coming to compete in one event on a single day. But between elite, age group, ruck, and elite/age group teams across all three days, we have more opportunities to compete than ever before. And we know there are plenty of you out there that have signed up for multiple races across the three days.

With that in mind, instead of focusing on honing your technique on a single zone, this month we're going to share tips on how to make it through the weekend without hitting a wall. Because we know some of you may very well need this advice.

We went to the defending DEKA STRONG World Champion and Underdog Fitness owner Kevin Gregory to glean his wisdom on how to be a DEKA World Championship multitasking master. Like last year, Kevin will be competing seven times throughout this year's championship. Here's his advice on how to train, recover, and compete at your best when racing multiple times per day across three days.

1. Simulate your race day in training. You need to be ready for how it will feel to compete several times in one day, and the best way to do it is in practice. Do a full race simulation, then rest for the time you'll have between races. Then repeat for as many times as you'll be racing. This can help reduce or remove the shock factor from your race day experience.

2. Hydrate well in advance. Don't wait until the night before. You'll be asking a lot of your body that weekend, so make sure you're not doing so in a dehydrated or underhydrated state.

3. At the event, refuel immediately after your race and then get off your feet for as long as possible before your next warm-up. The cement floor is no joke, and you'll start feeling that repetitive stress after a while. Don't do anything that could exacerabate that. Take care of those feet and legs in between races.
