| | | MY THOUGHTS | The highest privilege | Good morning. A lot of political discussion recently has centered around what the foreign policy of the United States ought to be — sometimes, and perhaps too simply, boiling down to "interventionism" vs "isolationism." | Many are sick of the endless wars in the Middle East and sending our hard-earned dollars to a distant land in Eastern Europe. Many also recognize that being the global superpower has a cost, both in blood and treasure, to defend America against its enemies. | I, like many of you, have family who served our nation — grandparents who fought in Korea and WWII, a great-grandparent who served in WWI. | Those who make it back from these wars are never truly the same. The less fortunate never return at all. | While General Patton said, "The highest obligation and privilege of citizenship is that of bearing arms for one's country," many of us will never understand what it means to bear arms for the United States. All we can do — the rest of us — is offer you our thanks for your sacrifice. | Today, on Veterans Day, we thank you for your service to our country, though we owe you a debt that cannot possibly ever be repaid. | |

| | WHAT WE'RE WATCHING | ✌️ Trump dropped Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo. President-elect Trump announced that former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will not join his incoming administration. Trump's decision comes as he faces pressure from the party's isolationist wing wary of interventionist figures, or "war hawks." | 🇮🇷 DOJ charged Iranian agents in a plot to assassinate Trump. US prosecutors revealed an Iranian scheme to kill Donald Trump, allegedly orchestrated by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Farhad Shakeri, an IRGC operative, was reportedly tasked with planning Trump's assassination, while two others were charged with targeting an Iranian-American dissident. | 🏠 A FEMA official ordered workers to skip Trump supporters' homes. Internal messages revealed that FEMA supervisor Marn'i Washington instructed relief workers in Lake Placid, Florida, to bypass homes displaying Trump signs, denying assistance to over 20 households. Following an investigation, FEMA stated it was "horrified" and has taken "extreme actions" to address the incident, including firing Washington. | ❌ Voters rejected Soros-backed prosecutors. Election results this week saw 12 of 25 Soros-backed district attorneys lose or face recall, even in heavily Democrat areas like Los Angeles. Many Democrats are abandoning progressive crime experiments as crime rates surge, signaling a nationwide shift toward law-and-order candidates. |

| | WHAT WE'RE HEARING | House Republicans called on Special Counsel Jack Smith to "preserve all records," accusing the DOJ of "purging" documents ahead of Trump retaking office. Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey (D) said she will not help the federal government with mass deportations of illegal migrants. Megyn Kelly slammed Democrats for attempting to pit women against men. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) shot down the idea that Justice Sonia Sotomayor should step down from the Supreme Court so Democrats can replace her.

| | NARRATIVE TRACKER | Washington Post writer Jennifer Rubin said, "It is 1933. Hitler is in power." While some in the media have questioned where the Democratic Party went wrong, expect the loudest voices in America's newspapers to continue with the "Trump is Hitler" narrative. ABC and NBC News omitted key details of the FEMA scandal, such as the supervisor's name and the number of homes impacted, even though The Daily Wire included this information in its original report. These outlets instead relied on FEMA's self-reporting. CNN host Abby Phillip and others participating in the discussion excoriated a Republican panelist for saying many Americans "don't believe boys should play girls' sports." Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claimed in a New York Times interview that more illegal migrants entered the US under Trump than Biden. This is false — approximately 2.5 million entered under Trump compared to over 10 million under Biden.

| | IN THE LOOP | Donald Trump said he will nominate Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) as UN ambassador. Trump also announced that former ICE Director Tom Homan will lead the effort to secure the border and carry out deportations. Donald Trump Jr. just urged Americans to take action now! He says, "Patriots are regaining control over this country in January! However, that won't stop…" Read his full message here.* Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) appears to have the momentum to be the next Senate majority leader. A Chinese national was arrested for trying to trespass into Mar-a-Lago.

| | WASHINGTON | How Kamala Harris burned $1 billion | Kamala Harris gained a historic influx of cash for her presidential campaign, totaling over $1 billion in just a few short months since she was declared the Democratic nominee. Including the cash from the Democrat-affiliated groups, over $2 billion was spent. | The Harris campaign burned through $880 million by mid-October, with huge spending on ads, a $56.6 million payroll, and high-profile events featuring stars such as Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. The over-the-top costs also included $3.9 million for influencer marketing. | It was recently unearthed that the Harris campaign spent $100,000 constructing a temporary set for her interview on Call Her Daddy, though the interview hasn't even topped one million views. | Claire McCaskill, a former Missouri senator, lamented that Harris "was listening too much to consultants," resulting in a campaign that felt disconnected and inauthentic. | With her final rally featuring Oprah Winfrey, Harris' campaign had clearly invested in star power, but it failed to resonate with swing voters who were looking for clarity and confidence in their candidate. A parade of celebrities was not enough to connect with Americans who were suffering from inflation and concerned about the mass influx of illegal migrants. | All the lavish spending officially left Harris' campaign $20 million in debt. | President-elect Donald Trump suggested — though some believe he was joking — that he would pay the debts of the Harris campaign. "Now [the Harris campaign is] being squeezed by vendors and others," wrote Trump. "Whatever we can do to help them during this difficult period, I would strongly recommend we, as a Party and for the sake of desperately needed UNITY, do." | |

| | WASHINGTON | The media still refuse to understand Trump voters | Donald Trump's landslide victory upended a number of media narratives about the former and soon-to-be next president. While the media has, for years, described Trump as the avatar of rageful white, rural, older voters, his increasing popularity with minority voters paints a starkly different picture. | Besides just challenging the narratives around Trump, this latest election proved that the top voices in TV and print media do not understand the motivations behind swayable voters and their decision to vote against Kamala Harris. The election results demonstrate that their willful ignorance comes with a cost. | Rachel Maddow, whose nightly news program draws the highest audience on MSNBC, accused American voters of deliberately voting in a "strongman" and choosing to "end our multi-racial pluralistic democracy." | This narrative is common in the mainstream media, with many refusing to believe that voters of all races and ethnicities prioritize issues like inflation and illegal migration instead of reflexively joining the Democratic coalition of non-white voters. | A New York Times opinion columnist even argued that the Democratic Party must "double down" on identity politics, implying that the modern political landscape is merely a power struggle between competing racial groups. | Some of the more reflective Democrats, like Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA), drew controversy for pushing back against the Democratic Party's obsession with "trying not to offend anyone," specifically calling out the left's preoccupation with transgenderism. | Across left-wing media, from MSNBC to CNN to The View, Trump voters — including black and Latino voters — have been mocked and condescended to, with little recognition that many felt left behind by the Biden-Harris administration's unpopular policies. | They also misunderstand the historic gender gap in this election, accusing men of not wanting to vote for any woman president. In reality, conservative men have historically supported many women, like Nikki Haley and Sarah Palin. | Further, women under 30 shifted 11 points toward Trump in this election. If men hate strong women, women must also hate strong women — according to the media's logic. | |
