| | | | MY THOUGHTS | The last hours | A week ago, we took on a bold fundraising campaign to ensure Upward News can continue to cut through the noise, report the real story, and bring clarity to a media landscape that's anything but honest. | In the chaos that's sure to follow today, you deserve the truth — and we're here to deliver it. | But that's just the short-term goal. Long term? We want to become the pivotal outlet that holds the political class accountable and exposes the damage of unchecked media propaganda. | There's a lot of work to be done. You're here because you recognize that. Help us to do the job. We're young, dedicated, and want to save this country more than anything else. | | We're 52% to our goal. We've come far, but we need a final push. If you're on the fence, we're offering our lowest price ever on memberships. | America deserves a fearless voice — with your support, we'll be that voice. | | |

| | WHAT WE'RE WATCHING | 📊 Harris and Trump are tied in Nate Silver's final election model. After running 80,000 simulations, top pollster Nate Silver's model gives Kamala Harris a razor-thin lead over Donald Trump, winning 50.015 percent of the time, reflecting an election that is, according to the data, literally closer than a coin flip. However, Silver and others warn that the polls could be wrong and that one candidate could still emerge as the overwhelming victor. | 📅 Georgia Supreme Court ruled that late absentee ballots won't count. The court decided that absentee ballots arriving after the 7:00 pm Election Day deadline in Cobb County won't be accepted, blocking a county plan that would have extended the deadline. RNC Chairman Michael Whatley called it a "HUGE victory," saying, "Election Day is Election Day — not the week after." | ⚖️ RNC sued Milwaukee for limiting Election Day poll watcher access. The Republican National Committee (RNC) filed a lawsuit against the Milwaukee Election Commission, challenging a rule that seeks to limit poll watchers to one Democrat and one Republican per precinct on Election Day. The RNC argues that this rule breaks Wisconsin law, which requires polling places to allow all election observers a clear view of the voting process. | 🔴 Dems fear the GOP could flip Nevada's Senate seat. Democratic insiders are increasingly concerned about Nevada's Senate race, as early voting data shows Republicans with a 45,000-vote lead, signaling strong GOP turnout. However, a top Nevada politics expert, Jon Ralston, believes Harris will narrowly beat out Trump in the state. | 🗳 Most voters think Trump will win and don't trust the election to be fair. According to the final Economist/YouGov survey before Election Day, 38 percent of likely voters predict Donald Trump will win the presidential race, compared to 35 percent who expect Kamala Harris to prevail. Almost a quarter of respondents lack confidence in the process, with just 12 percent of Republicans expressing strong trust, compared to half of Democrats. |

Van Jones said he is "nervous and worried" about Kamala Harris' chances in Pennsylvania. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) believes there is another big "silent Trump voter" contingency. Jason Greenblatt asserted that Kamala Harris doesn't have enough knowledge of Israel to effectively secure peace.

| | WASHINGTON | Why we vote | I won't sugarcoat it. This country has a lot of problems. And for many of us living here — with the burdens of the modern political system — the greatness of this country is not always easily felt. Life, after all, is hard. Most Americans say it's become harder in the past few decades. | Is America even the greatest country in the world? | It's a good thought experiment. What country is greater? If things got really bad, where would you go? You could find better cuisine elsewhere. Nice beaches, too. Maybe cheaper living conditions. You could probably even find tranquility somewhere for a bit. If you have some specific country in mind — I'd bet that country calls itself a "liberal democracy." | Well, these liberal democracies are becoming less liberal and less democratic very quickly. Just look at Europe. Countries like Switzerland are "ranked" the freest in the world — more free than America. Do they have a right to bear arms? No. But you'd be relieved to hear they do have a right to free speech (as long what you're saying isn't mean!). | And then you'd look back at America. Yes, we are in trouble too, but we are still the city on a hill. We set the standard for freedom, individual liberty, innovation, and the pursuit of happiness. Where we fall flat, our aspirations make up for. These characteristics in other countries are merely dulled reflections from America. | If America goes — they all do, too. There is nowhere to run. | Despite our problems, America is still the greatest country in the world. And it still has the most potential in the world because of its unique vision and political foundations laid nearly two hundred and fifty years ago. | Today, we have the great privilege of being able to vote, which is historically an anomaly. We get to choose the direction of this country and, along with that, the direction of the world. | So, we vote because we have the option to choose an America of freedom, innovation, and peace. | We vote because, once that America is fully gone, you can't vote it back in. | |
