1) A Ceasefire 2) Cease The Occupation 🇵🇸

Hey ,

I hope you're having a blessed Wednesday. Today, Palestinians in Gaza were given the news that there would be a ceasefire. Witnessing the smiles, celebrations, and moments of joy among the humans in Gaza broke me to tears—tears that I know many of you shared.

Our collective tears flowed because these beautiful families, who felt like our direct family for the last 15 months, deserve to finally rest. They deserve to hug their families. They deserve a peaceful night's sleep. They deserve to reflect about what they've seen and take time to grieve. They deserve to count their dead.

The tears were filled with optimism, knowing what this means to Palestinians, and skepticism, for we've seen the occupation break ceasefires and lie many times before.

For Palestinians, a ceasefire means more than safety. It means being able to eat. It means being able to drink. It means being able to rejoice with family. It means reclaiming their humanity from the dehumanizing shackles that the occupation imposed upon them.

The collective tears were filled with sadness, for just hours before the ceasefire, beloved journalist Ahmed Hisham was murdered. He sent his will, a 2 minute video, to journalist Noor Harazeen weeks before he was killed, and she posted it on Instagram. The video broke our hearts.

The tears were filled with rage knowing that this lasted so long, and that Palestinians in Gaza, until right now, are still being murdered.

The tears were filled with grief for all the hundreds of people that we got to know and loved during the genocide, all for the occupation to brutally take them away.

A Free Palestine is not a ceasefire. A Free Palestine is the full freedom of Palestinians in their own land and within their own homes. A Free Palestine is not humans imprisoned on their own soil, celebrating that they won't be killed tonight.

Let our tears be filled with hope, for this is a stepping stone to full liberation. Not only for Palestine, but for all oppressed people everywhere. We will all break the shackles of oppression, together, for our liberation is bound in each others.

Keep shouting for all the oppressed, we will all live in peace soon.

Peace and blessings,
Murad
