Parenteau & Ignatowich to Face Off in PPA Red Rock Open Mixed Doubles Semifinals
|
James Ignatowich continued his great form today when he strung together three dominant two-game victories to secure a semifinal opportunity at the PPA Red Rock Open. Building off of an impressive singles run yesterday which included an upset win over Jaume Martinez-Vich, Ignatowich continued his hard hitting on Thursday throughout his mixed doubles play, securing lobsided wins in a stacked bracket. Ignatowich's performance peaked in the quarterfinal round when he and Tyra Black secured an 11-3, 11-3 win over Hayden Patriquin & Rachel Rohrabacher.
Thursday's action also saw a dominant series of matches from Catherine Parenteau and her mixed doubles partner Christian Alshon. The duo worked through the bracket without dropping a single game, and they'll look to reach Championship Sunday following their showdown with Ignatowich & Black, which is scheduled for Saturday.
On the other side of the mixed doubles semifinal bracket, sibling duo of JW & Jorja Johnson take on Dekel Bar and Parris Todd. The PPA Red Rock Open action continues with gender doubles today. |
