WEEKEND RECAP GROUNDWORKS
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO
The biting thin air of Fort Carson, soaring over 6,000 feet, set a brutal stage for thousands of Spartans who stormed the Colorado Springs Honor Series this weekend. They met a stark landscape of rocky trails and military training grounds head-on, where every obstacle became an amplified testament to raw endurance against the crushing altitude. For those who pushed through, the coveted Honor Series medal offered a distinct reward—a symbol of respect and the unbreakable spirit uniquely forged in this demanding arena. This was pure, high-altitude warfare against personal limits, a tribute etched in sweat across Colorado's rugged warrior country.
MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA
Thousands of Spartans converged on the legendary Toro Park this past weekend, ready to battle a course famed for its brutal beauty just miles from the Monterey coast. Under the coastal California sky, racers charged through picturesque woods and across rolling golden hills, only to be met with relentless climbs and rugged trails designed to set muscles ablaze. This fan-favorite venue, a Spartan proving ground for over a decade, demanded everything as athletes navigated punishing obstacles and open field sprints that tested both speed and raw endurance. Meanwhile, Spartan Trail warriors embraced their own brand of punishment, conquering 10k, 21k, and grueling Marathon distances across those same relentlessly challenging Toro Park paths.
ANDORRA LA VELLA, ANDORRA
DEKA stormed into Andorra for the very first time this past weekend, transforming the iconic Cirque du Soleil tent into a high-altitude battleground where over 800 athletes tackled the zones over 1,000 meters above sea level. Pau Nacenta absolutely flew through the men's elite race, not only clinching victory but also bettering his DEKA Mark for the season, proving thin air was just another challenge to conquer. The elite women's competition saw a thrilling, down-to-the-wire fight with Petra Arvela ultimately edging out Muntsa Ciuró by less than 10 seconds, while the entire event embodied "Fitness for All" with one team featuring a competitor over 80 years young.
BEIJING, CHINA
Beijing Expo Park transformed into a delightfully slick playground as over 640 Tough Mudder Kids and families embraced a full day of drizzling rain and chilly temps for an unforgettable Children's Day adventure. Undeterred, these little mud warriors, including the mighty 20-strong "Galaxy Force" team, fearlessly united to conquer every mucky obstacle with pure perseverance.
