Publisher to publisher
| | | This week, The New York Times called me out personally.
The Sun's response? To challenge the Times to a debate – publisher to publisher.
At issue was the Sun's scoop last week that the Times was planning a broadside against religious private yeshiva schools in New York. The Sun's pre-buttal, penned by councilman Simcha Eichenstein sent the Times into a swivet, calling out me and the Sun by name.
At the Sun we stand on principle, and the constitutional right to the free exercise of religion is among our strongest held principles. We'd debate the Times on this issue any day. | | | | | A Friendly Challenge to the New York Times
| | | | | So far the Times hasn't responded, but at the Sun we're just getting started. The Times' war against religious communities has gone on for far too long. We're here to fight for the rights of all Americans. I sincerely hope you'll join us in this vital effort.
