Hey friend! Allow me to introduce myself—I'm Ikechukwu Ogwuegbu, the brain behind Veii Apparel. Today, I'm thrilled to recount the incredible journey that brought us to where we are today. To be honest, I knew nothing about making clothes when I started Veii. If you asked me about the difference between cotton and polyester, I'd just stare back at you with a blank face. But I had a burning desire to be better than Kevin Plank, the founder of Under Armour. So let me give you some context. I played football at the University of Maryland from 2016-2019. We were Under Armour's flagship school since Mr. Plank started the brand during his football days at our alma mater. Whenever Mr. Plank made surprise visits to our team, I couldn't tell if he was a coach or the CEO of a billion-dollar company. He would quietly observe us like a fly on the wall, taking in the atmosphere and probably reliving his glory days when he was a broke college student-athlete with just an idea. But then came a visit that changed my life's trajectory, and I'll tell you all about it next week!
