The post-Memorial-Day-sale hangover is here. CPMs are returning to normal levels, but conversion metrics are tanking now that all the "99% off buy now!!!!" coupons are gone. AOV is down across the board and so is conversion rate. But this is just a regression to the mean: no hangovers last forever. Drink some water, put on some cheap sunglasses, and stay attuned to your week-over-week performance going forward.
Some specifics: TikTok budget share plummeted nearly 20%, but we think this is either a massive holdout test to measure incremental (more on this below) or several brands are knee-jerking and yanking spend ahead of the looming potential of a TikTok ban. The good news: this drove down CPMs.
