3 Reasons to Give Probiotics Daily

Probiotics are good bacteria often found in fermented foods as well as part of our healthy gut flora in a healthy GI tract. Supplementing with a probiotic supplement is the best way that you can support your pet's gut and immunity by encouraging the growth of good bacteria to help support optimal health.

Probiotics can help to support your pet's immune system, digestive tract or even their mental state (check out this study done on the microbiome of both aggressive and non-aggressive dogs done in Italy) as well as their body weight. When you give your dog (or cat) a probiotic supplement, you can look for these specific types of probiotics and not worry about too much sugar or too many calories.

It should be noted that the below recommendations are purely suggestions based on Ruff & Purr's team of nutritional experts and we encourage that all changes to your pet's diet and nutritional regimen should involve the consultation of your respective Veterinarian.

Reason #1:
Defending against bad bugs and toxins

Our pets are exposed to toxins and bad bacteria daily. Over time, an accumulation of toxins or bad bacteria can lead to long term gut dysbiosis or dysfunction for your pet, leading to conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or disorder (IBD).

Taking a probiotic daily can help combat these issues, as consistent use of probiotics can help reduce inflammation in the gut by increasing the beneficial gut bacteria, leading to an improvement in overall health for your pet.

For extra assistance you can double or triple your pet's usage of their probiotic supplement for a short period which is called therapeutic dosing.

Reason #2:

It takes time to make the changes

It takes time to change their gut microbiome for the long term (3-6 months) so the daily feeding will help build up the amount healthy probiotic microbiota in their tummies. The more consistent you are with feeding, ideally daily, the faster you should see these changes in your pawed pal.

Reason #3:

Probiotics improve nutrient absorption

Certain strains of probiotic bacteria can break down the nutrients in their foods. In some cases, it has been found that certain probiotic strains, including Bacillus subtilis can actually synthesize or produce their own vitamins within the body,

All of this being considered, if you want to give your pet extra assistance in nutrient absorption, you can also add a digestive enzyme to your pet's meals.

If you're looking for a product which is high quality and contains both probiotics and digestive enzymes, look no further than Restore M3® which contains everything your pet needs to breakdown their nutrients and keep their gut healthy and issue free!
